If you are new to programming, here are some tips for you to get started:
- The first thing you would want to do is create a GitHub account. What is GitHub? Think of it as a filing system for every draft of a document . That is also where you would upload all your projects; it can serve as your portfolio.
- Go on Codecademy and start on the lessons. But what language should you learn? I would recommend starting with Python. Not only because it is easier to learn, but it is a popular language.
- Once you have finished your lesson on Codecademy, move on to Free Code Camp. I just recently started using it and it seems really similar to Codecademy except much more detailed. If you don't feel like taking two courses for the same language, I'd recommend taking it on Free Code Camp. It also provides you many opportunities to
- Now that you have completed all the lessons, you can either go to Enlighten or Udemy to start working on real projects. Enlighten does not have much projects at the moment and does not really guide you through the project step by step; you just have to look at the code and learn from it. On the contrary, Udemy probably has everything you are looking for, but most of them are paid content (worth it).
